Today our lecture had moved on to the third chapter of human communication which emphasises on the subject of "Listening". "Listening or Hearing" is one of the five basic senses that a human being possess. This topic contains several subtopics such as :
- Stages/Processes of Listening
- Listening and Culture
- Listening Effectively
Listening is a specialized process, a type of perception , by which you recieve auditory signals.
There are five stages of listening, these include :
- Receiving (verbally and non-verbally)
- Understanding (decoding speaker's message)
- Remembering (retaining messages received)
- Evaluating (judging the messages received)
- Responding (response to the speaker)
- Not everyone have the abilities to remember everything.
